Shared Island Project strengthens all-island collaboration on Global Citizenship Education

The Shared Island initiative aims to develop meaningful cross-border dialogue and collaboration, with a focus on Global Citizenship Education (GCE) as a vital tool for building understanding, solidarity, and shared responsibility across the island of Ireland.

CADA, in partnership with Dóchas and the Irish Development Education Association (IDEA), are taking part in this ongoing project, aiming to enhance cooperation, dialogue, and mutual understanding across the island.

CADA and its partners are committed to continuing this important work and encourage organisations from across the island to engage with the Shared Island project and its educational strands. By working together, we can strengthen relationships, build a more inclusive society, and promote a shared future grounded in equality and global solidarity.

As part of the initiative, a recent workshop in Belfast brought together development education practitioners and civil society organisations from both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Pictured are some of the representatives from CADA member organisations Trócaire, the Centre for Global Education, Habitat for Humanity Ireland, and Children in Crossfire, who contributed to rich discussions on the day.
