CADA was proud to mark One World Week 2025 in October with a week-long programme of events under the powerful theme Aid Matters. The campaign brought together CADA members and supporters to celebrate and advocate for the life-changing impact of international aid.
This year’s events highlighted the essential work of CADA member organisations – demonstrating how collective action and public support create real change in the world’s most vulnerable regions.
Activities across the week ranged from a public street gathering and panel discussion to a music, culture, and storytelling showcase. The week concluded with a vibrant in-person celebration, featuring performances by the Save the World in Song community choir, music and dance from Donna Nalongo, and an inspiring talk by Claire Kumar. A highlight of the closing event was the screening of a special collective ‘Aid Matters’ video created by CADA members, capturing the impact and importance of international aid. Watch it here: video
One World Week 2025 aimed not only to celebrate the contributions of Northern Ireland communities but also to raise awareness and encourage advocacy for global solidarity. From emergency relief to long-term development, the campaign reminded us that Aid Matters – because people matter, because justice matters, and because we are all connected.
